My passion for food and cooking is rooted in home-cooking with family. Growing up in both Tennessee and Texas, I have a deep appreciation for the diversity of Southern cooking. From an early age I helped my family cook delicious meals with a Southern country flair.
I moved to Washington D.C to start what would be a thirty-year career in technology for the Federal Government market. Yet over the years I always put together holiday meals for my large family. I enjoyed each occasion trying new and different recipes.
After buying a log cabin outside Nashville and transforming it to Billy Goat Hill Retreat, I have started cooking for friends, clients and family. My husband L.J. says, “you add a little bit of love in every meal.”
I get my inspiration from chefs Tyler Florence and Rachel Ray. They cook real everyday food that makes the heart and soul happy.
